2015 IANRP Workshop will be conducted concurrently with DOI National Pilot Ground School – Boulder, Colorado
The US Fish and Wildlife Service and National Park Service will partner with the Department’s Office of Aviation Services (OAS) to host the 2015 DOI National Pilot Ground School (NPGS) December 1-3, 2015 in Boulder, Colorado. The theme for this NPGS is:
“Enhancing a ‘Safety Culture’ in an experienced aviation organization”
The 2015 NPGS will satisfy USFWS policy to attend an FWS biennial pilot ground school. It will also grant all DOI pilot attendees credit for the OPM-22 requirement to attend a DOI pilot ground school every other year. Further, Interagency Aviation Training (IAT) equivalency will be granted for the following A-courses: A-205 – Risk Management I, A-302 – Personal Responsibility and Liability, and A-303 – Human Factors in Aviation.
In addition, all DOI fleet pilot participants will receive 24 CEU credits toward their annual OPM-22 requirement for aviation continuing education. All DOI fleet pilots, OAS pilot inspectors, and aviation managers are invited to attend and will receive DOI credit. Non-federal guests will also be in attendance from state wildlife agencies and from the International Association of Natural Resource Pilots. This event was coordinated and will be presented by FWS and NPS in partnership with OAS.
The event will be held at the Hotel Bouderado in downtown Boulder from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm over three full days during the first week in December. Monday (Nov 30) and Friday (Dec 4) are travel days. The hotel has a block of rooms reserved for event attendees below the federal per diem rate, on a first-come, first-serve basis. While the initial reduced-price block is limited to the first 50 rooms, this block may be expanded. Rooms must be booked by the first week in November for this rate.

An interagency NPGS Planning Committee worked hard to book world-class trainer/presenters for the 2015 event. Accompanying NPGS schedule and logistics information are attached to this venue primer—please save your organization’s resources by not renting cars and by staying in the NPGS venue hotel. You will not get a better deal in Boulder and the training will be more effective if everyone is together in one place. If you have pressing questions, contact Paul Anderson NPS Aviation, (907) 365-9180, or firstname.lastname@example.org. See you in Boulder!
